Mammography

ACR Mammography Seal

A mammogram is a safe and easy x-ray of the breast. It can detect small cancers long before they are symptomatic or felt by you or your doctor.

Women should have a baseline mammogram between the ages of 35-40. If there is a family history of breast cancer, you should have a baseline sooner. After the age of 40, a woman should have a mammogram every year.

Preparation for Mammogram:

Mammography
  • Do not wear any deodorants, creams, or powders.
  • Wear a two-piece outfit so you only have to undress from the waist up.
  • If you had a mammogram at another facility, please make arrangements to have your films or CD’s sent to us prior to your exam or bring them with you the day of your exam.
