X-Ray

X-rays are a form of radiation. This radiation is used to produce "pictures" of the bones and organs.

X-rays of the bones allow the physician to ensure that fractured bones are aligned properly and stabilized for healing.

X-ray images are also used to diagnose and monitor the progression of degenerative diseases such as arthritis. Regular x-rays are used to determine severe osteoporosis and to detect early loss of bone density.

Preparation for a Routine X-Ray:

  • General x-rays do not require specific preparation.
  • If you're pregnant or are uncertain as to pregnancy, you should consult your physician.
